Hearts of Grace Homecare, Inc. caregivers have fundamental responsibilities: to promote health, to prevent illness, to restore health and alleviate human suffering.
Inherent in care giving is respect for human rights, including cultural rights, the right to life, to dignity and to be treated with respect.
Caregivers of the Hearts of Grace Homecare Agency Inc. render non-medical services to and coordinate care with appropriate agencies.
1. Caregivers and Clients
- The caregivers primary professional responsibility is to people requiring care.
- The caregiver promotes an environment in which the human rights, values, and spiritual beliefs of the client are respected.
- The caregiver ensures that the client is well informed regarding the consent of care to be provided.
2. Caregivers and Practice
- The caregiver has the personal responsibility for maintaining competence and continual learning.
- The caregiver will maintain a standard of personal health as not to compromise the care provided to the client.
- When accepting nurse delegation the caregiver must exercise judgment of his/her competence.
- Will at all times maintain a standard of personal conduct that will not tarnish the profession of care giving.
3. Caregivers and the Profession
- The caregiver will be active in developing a core of researched professional knowledge.
- The caregiver at all times will act in creating equitable social and economic working conditions for the healthcare profession.
